Bharti Airtel appoints Ajay Chitkara as director and CEO of its B2B unit
Bharti Airtel appoints Ajay Chitkara as director and CEO of its B2B unit. The Ashok Ganapathy, director, and CEO of Airtel Business has resigned, an exit during times when the telco is at loggerheads with Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio) and other incumbents over subscriber and revenue share.
Ajay Chitkara, director, and CEO of global voice and data business will replace Ganapathy as the Sunil Mittal owned telco head of the enterprise business, ahead of Jio’s expected entry into the segment which caters to corporate customers.
In his new role, Chitkara will head Bharti Airtel Business as an integrated unit that will include both domestic enterprise and global enterprise operations of the company. He will continue reporting to Gopal Vittal, MD, and CEO Bharti Airtel.
