VIDA V1: Two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has entered the electric vehicle space. VIDA launched the first electric scooter named V1 on Friday. VIDA has brought the V1 scooter in 2 variants. VIDA V1 Plus has priced at around 1.45 lakhs while VIDA V1 Pro is priced at 1.59 lakhs.
The VIDA V1 Plus model provides a range of 143 km on a full charge of the scooter. The VIDA V1 Pro model scooter provides a range of approximately 165 km on a single charge.
This scooter comes with a portable charger and a removable battery. VIDA V1 bookings will start on October 10. In a statement, the Hero company revealed that deliveries will begin in the second week of December.
Pawan Munjal, CEO, and Chairman, of Hero MotoCorp, said during the launch that VIDA V1 is not just a scooter but a power change in this segment.
The VIDA bike will compete with TVS IceCube, Bajaj Chetak, and Aether Energy, Ola Electric Bike, and Hero Electric Bike in the market. Hero MotoCorp, the leader in the fuel segment, has decided to go aggressively in the electric vehicle segment as well.
As a part of this, it decided to create America’s Zero Motorcycles. Hero MotoCorp already owns a 35 percent stake in Aether Energy.
