Telangana News: Good news for government employees. The government has started initiatives to set up the Telangana PRC 2018 in the state by next month (January -2018). The Finance Department has already forwarded the file to CM KCR regarding PRC. CM will soon convene a special meeting to discuss the PRC (Pay Revision Commission). At present, the 10 PRC is in force which was implemented in the AP state.
The government has implemented the 10 PRC chaired by Sri V.K. Aggarwal after formation of Telangana State. The newly formed Commission will be the first pay revision commission PRC in Telangana state. The government is considering for setting up a commission in January and implement the increase in salaries of state government employees from July. The exercise has started for this purpose.
There is a custom of handing charge to senior retired IAS officers as Chairman to PRC who have vast knowledge on employees and wage-related matters. The appointment of the chairman depends entirely upon the decision of the Chief Minister. In the joint state, the government has been implementing pay revision commission every five years since July 1998. Accordingly, the tenth PRC tenure will end on 1st July 2018.
Formation of Telangana PRC 2018
The government will have to set up a new commission, i.e., Telangana PRC 2018 at least six months earlier. This committee will take six months to study. The commission will hold meetings with Employees’ and Teachers unions and will take representations from employees. The Committee will give its recommendations to the government, including all of them. Experts from the unions say that the whole process takes six months to a year by considering previous experiences.
The govt will take the decision after examining PRC report on accepting proposals, which needs modifications. Although this process will continue, the new PRC will come into effect from July 2018. That is why the employees and teacher unions have already appealed to the government to set up a PRC.
According to the joint state tenth PRC, the state government now pays salaries to the employees. Even though the state was formed in June 2014, PRC recommendations were issued on July 1, 2013. The govt has given the green signal for paying salaries with 43% fitness. Considering the period up to the formation of the state of as a notional, It has been agreed to pay the PRC payments in the form of cash from the appointed day.
Still, payment of arrears is not complete. Recently, the government issued orders to pay these dues in monthly installments. The monthly installments will be completed by December next year. However, the implementation of the new PRC will be entirely based on the decision taken by the Chief KCR, officials said.
