Rajya Sabha 58 Seats Elections Schedule Out. The Election Commission (EC) announced on 23rd Feb 2018 for the biennial polls to 58 Rajya Sabha seats from 16 states. The elections to the seats falling vacant between April 2 and 3, if required, will be held on March 23, with March 12 being the last day for filing nominations.
The Fifty eight members of the Upper House are slated to complete their term in April 2018. At least ten members have to be elected from the Hindi heartland of Uttar Pradesh.

- The EC on Friday announced Rajya Sabha poll date for 16 states.

Jagat Prakash Nadda from Himachal Pradesh and Shadi Lal Batra from Haryana will be among those whose terms are ending. Other ministers whose terms are expiring include Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Law and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
The number of seats up for ten from Uttar Pradesh, six each from Bihar and Maharashtra, five each from Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal, four members from Gujarat and Karnataka while the number is three each for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Rajasthan.
