Karnataka: Bookanakere Siddalingappa (BS) Yeddyurappa to Return as Karnataka CM after seven years. The BJP surged ahead of the Congress in the leads and crossed the magic number of 112 in Karnataka election results, celebrations seen at the party’s headquarters in Bengaluru and other parts of the state.

BJP workers cheered burst crackers and chanted “Narendra Modi Modi” as they monitored the numbers of giant TV screens. A senior Congress leader and minister in Siddaramaiah’s cabinet, DK Shivakumar, admitted defeat and said the numbers indicate the party is on its way out in Karnataka.

For the election results, votes are being counted for 222 of the 224 assembly seats from 8 am. 72.36 percent of the five crore eligible voters in Karnataka cast their votes on Saturday 12th May 2018.

Karnataka Elections Highlights At 12.30 PM:

BJP has caught the lead in 110 seats.

Congress is leading in 72 seats.

Congress’ chief ministerial candidate Siddaramaiah trails in Chamundeshwari, leads in Badami.

BJP’s chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa has won in Shikaripura.

Karnataka election results for 222 of 224 Assembly positions will be declared today. The magic number is 112.K

An aggregate of nine exit polls shows the BJP emerging as the largest party with 97 seats. The Congress will win 90 seats and environmental party Janata Dal-Secular or JDS 31, according to the poll of exit polls.
