UPSC Indian Forest Services 2018 Prelims Exam Notification released at www.upsc.gov.in. Union Public Service Commission has released the official notification for Indian Forest Services (IFS) Preliminary examination through CS(P). The online application process has started today and closes on 6th March 2018 6 PM. The provisional number of vacancies are 110. The prelims for IFS is on 3rd June 2018. The main examination will be held in December 2018. Only online applications accepted.
Candidates should make note that negative marking applies for wrong answers marked in objective type question paper.
UPSC Indian Forest Services 2018 Prelims Exam Notification
UPSC is conducting the prelims exam in 72 centers across the country. Allotment of centers will be on first apply first allot basis only.
The selection of candidates will be done in two successive stages i.e., Preliminary and Main Examination. Candidates, who qualified in prelims, eligible to attend Main Exams (written and interview)
Candidates who wish to attend IFS should appear and qualify in the Civil Services (Prelims).
Candidates must have completed the age of 21 years and not crossed the age of 32 years as on 1st August 2018. He should have been born between 2nd August 1986 and 1st August 1997. The upper age limit is relaxable to the following category candidates. SC/ST/Ex-serviceman – Five years, OBC/Disable Defence service personnel – three years, PWD – 10 years.
The candidate must be a Bachelor’s Degree with one of the subjects viz. Botany, Chemistry, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or Agriculture or Engineering
Fee: All candidates, except SC/ST/PH/Women, have to pay Rs.100 towards examination fee. Online payment facility is available.
Steps to apply
Candidates can submit online applications at www.upsconline.nic.in for Civil Services (Preliminary) examination. While applying, the candidates have to indicate for which they intend to apply. The qualified candidates for IFS Mains have to fill in a detailed application form subsequently.
