Amaravati: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu decides to pay new Dearness Allowance (D.A) for employees from April 2018. He decides on Jan 20 in the cabinet meeting. The govt has to release the DA for the period starting from January 1, 2017. D.Increases to 2.096 percent.

The government would have to pay ₹1100 crore more to employees and pensioners with new Dearness Allowance. In addition, the government increases outsourcing employees salaries.

The DA paid in cash from April with the salary from April 2017. Payable in the month of April 2018.The arrears bills on account of payment of the DA for the period from January 1 to April 2017, would be credited to the General Provident Fund (GPF) Account of the respective employees in the month of April 2018.

What is Present D.A:

The AP govt is paying 22.008 percent from July 1st as per G.O no 140. Now employees get January allowance include 2.096%. So now D.A 24.104 percent. Read more: Dearness Allowance (DA) Announced 22.008% Just Now For AP State Employees

AP govt announced July 2015 D.A( 12.052%+July DA=15.196%). The employees getting allowance now 22.008%

However, in the case of employees who are due to retire on or before June 30, 2018, the arrears of DA would be drawn and paid in cash as the employee due to retire on superannuation is exempt from making any subscription to the GPF during the last four months of service.
