AP Employees minimum service required for promotion is 2 years only. Govt has issued GO Ms.No.175, dated 27.11.2017

AP Employees Promotion minimum Service 2 years only. The government of Andhra Pradesh has reduced the minimum service period from three years to two years. Therefore, the government servants will be beneficial who seek promotion. As per G.O.Ms.No.175 Date: 27.11.2017 the Ad-hoc rules framed in G.O.Ms.No.230 G.A.(Ser.A) Dept, dated:31st May 2014, shall issue separate rules prescribing.

The Government has decided to avoid administrative difficulties faced by govt servants. In the interest of administration, AP Govt has decided to issue an ad-hoc rule reducing the minimum required service from 3 years to 2 years.

As per G.O.Ms.No.175 Date: 27th November the AP govt has made the ad-hoc rule and that will come into force with immediate effect.

All the Departments who are following the Ad-hoc rules shall issue separate rules prescribing minimum service in the feeder cadre/category as two years.

AD-HOC RULE for AP Employees Promotion minimum service:

“Notwithstanding anything contained in the relevant Special Rules for the State and Subordinate Services and in supersession of the Ad-hoc rule issued in relation to  prescribing minimum service for promotion/appointment by transfer, no member of service is eligible for Promotion/appointment by transfer from the lower category, class or grade, to the next higher category, unless he has put in not less than two years service in such lower category, class or grade.”
